Relationship between anthropometric parameters and throwing velocity in water polo players

Resumen

El waterpolo es un deporte colectivo que implica esfuerzos de alta intensidad y corta duración; los jugadores deben nadar, saltar, lanzar el balón a alta intensidad con momentos de descanso. La necesidad de jugadores más rápidos y fuertes tiene una gran relación con la mejora de las características antropométricas El objetivo de este estudio fue establecer la importancia de los factores antropométricos y la velocidad (v) de lanzamiento a portería, evaluado en 22 jugadores de la selección española de waterpolo. Las referencias del perfil antropométrico se midieron de acuerdo con el protocolo del Grupo de Trabajo Internacional de Kineantropometría (ISAK), considerado por la literatura como el recomendado para caracterizar una población de deportistas. La evaluación condicional se centró en la evaluación de la v específica de tres tipos de lanzamiento en la piscina y a una distancia de 5 m. La v se registró con radar (Inc., Flat StalkerPro), con una frecuencia de registro de 100 Hz y con 0.045 sensibilidad por m·s−1. Los resultados muestran que la mayor v se alcanza con el lanzamiento sin portero y la menor v en el lanzamiento con el portero. El tamaño corporal a través del índice de masa corporal (IMC) (r=0.5), circunferencia del brazo (r=0.5), diámetro biacromial (r=0.5) y diámetro del fémur (r=0.6) se correlacionan con la v de lanzamiento con portero a los jugadores de waterpolo. El tamaño corporal se confirma como un factor importante para llegar al alto rendimiento en polo acuático (p<0.05).
