Abstract
The aim of this paper is to investigate about the main factors that threaten the survival of the newly created SMEs. For this purpose, the analysis is based on the SMEs created during the years 2013 and 2016 and tries, through the estimation of logistic regression models, to understand the conditions of the entrepreneurial failure in the Spanish regional reality, highlighting the macroeconomic and institutional factors. The main goal is to reach conclusions that support the implementation of economic policies aimed at reducing the rate of entrepreneurial failure and, consequently, strengthen the fundamentals of growth of the Spanish economy.
