Abstract

Advanced prostate cancer represents a disease of global impact with only palliative treatments. For this reason, the search for new antitumor agents for this type of disease is important. Some organometallic titanium compounds have shown promising anticancer properties, with fewer side effects and thus greater selectivity over conventional cisplatinum-derived chemotherapeutic agents. In this context, the oxime systems are interesting coordinating ligands, which can offer several advantages. Herein, we present the synthesis and characterization of a novel family of cyclopentadienyl titanium compounds containing chiral ammonium or amino oximate ligands of formula [CpTi(rnH•HCl,nO)Cl2] (r = Ph 1a∙Hcl, Bn 1b∙Hcl, 2-pic 1c∙Hcl) and [Cp2Ti(rnH,nO)Cl)] (r = Ph 2a, Bn 2b, 2-pic 2c), together with their in vitro study of cytotoxi- city, adhesion and cell migration in the androgen-independent prostate cancer cell line (PC3).
