Abstract

The outcome of an international interdisciplinary workshop held inDecember 2020, this book discloses different approaches, methods and problems in accessing information and interpreting data about verbal semantics of ancient and modern languages. Remarkably, this book collects relevant remarks about how accessing and managing information depending on the language under study is modern or ancient. On the other side, and quite surprisingly, the comparisonbetween both language groups reveals that common points exist, which enhance both study areas’ epistemological and methodologic perspectives. These common points provide cohesion and balance to the book and benefit linguists of ancient and modern languages. The languages covered in this book are Guarani (chaqueño), Anatolian languages (Hittite and Luwian), Brazilian Portuguese, Ancient Egyptian and Biblical Hebrew.
