Abstract

Sierra Aznar, located next to the river Majaceite, in intermediate territory between the countryside and the mountain range, is mainly known as a Roman-era archaeological site. The construction related to the use of natural water re-source of the mountains stand out. Research on our project includes the diachronic sequence of the occupation of the site and its surroundings, although the line of study focused on mining activity is now presented. With references to 19th century mining, the main novelty is the hypotheses that this activity also took place in Roman times.
