Abstract
The present research is focused on the projects of Mapuche Bilingual Intercultural Education in La Araucanía Region, Chile, with the purpose of analyzing the practices of Executive Management and Educative Leadership, in the strengthening of the intercultural competences of the students of Schools with Project of Mapuche Bilingual Intercultural Education. During the process of research, a mixed methodology was applied, following the design of multiple cases, for this reason, a field work was carried in intercultural schools, which lasted more than two years. The main findings show that, quantitatively, there is a favorable perception on practices of Executive Management and Educative Leadership in the scope of management group and teachers. Nevertheless, when the analysis includes all the actors involved in the Educative Units, qualitatively, a critical view is observed which display several gaps in the subject of the developing of intercultural competences, which allow the students transiting between cultures. Regarding the finding and conclusions, a group of necessary actions and directions are proposed to be carried out, in order to strengthening the practices of Executive Management and Educative Leadership, in a frame of continuous improvement of the educative quality in Schools with Project of Intercultural Education.
