Resumen

This paper reports the findings of a case study analysis of the process of the “exam board” taking place at University of Aberdeen in Scotland for one programme, the postgraduate Diploma in Community Learning and Development (PGDip in CL&D), in the School of Education. The topic addressed is particularly relevant for settings outside the UK in Europe, because external examination processes are not a feature of all University programmes in Europe. It is specifically interesting for the context of Europe after the Bologna Process, considering the external examinations as an accountability measure.
