Abstract
The vegetation evolution in the eastern sector during the last 2000 years is based on pollen analysis from the Puerto Morcuera (Sierra de Guadarrama, Madrid). A forest more or less dense composed by Pinus, Quercus pyrenaica and Betula was developed before 1710 BP. The forest was degrading, since Roman time due to the anthropic action, mainly grazing. Since the 19th century, we observe a slow recovery of the forest as a consequence of afforestation. -after English summary
