Abstract

Strokes are the main cause of disability for adults in western societies. It carries a greatsocio-economic impact which is growing because of the reduction in mortality caused by the technological, medical healthcare and post-discharge care systems improvements. This impact is associated with an increase in the number of patients with a severe disability; interest is thus increasing in studying the impact of stroke in the quality of life of survivors.
