Resumen

In our study we analyzed descriptively cause mortality in Jerez de los Caballeros, for the period between 1800 and 1900. We have deepened and known how they fought and acted by local authorities, against diseases, epidemics, disasters and disturbances Public Health at the time. We quantify the evolution of the different causes of mortality specified what were the main diseases were population declines. We analyze a specific diagnosis when listed as cause of death, if it disappears temporarily or permanently, to be replaced by another term, or even find out if there are two or more terms of a single cause. Determine what causes of death affected more intensely or alike, both toddlers and adults. We found out what sex diseases suffered more intensely. We examine which age groups happen the cause of death. We conducted Mortality Rates. We study major epidemics and demographic crisis. They describe how it was woven Public Health in this rural town of Spain in the XIXth century, assessing the influence public hygiene, therapeutic and other social, cultural, economic, political , etc., had in the evolution of mortality.
