Abstract

The Olduvai Paleoanthropology and Paleocology Project (TOPPP) has recently discovered an anthropogenic site (DS) in the same geological stratum as FLK Zinj, of which currently 470 m2 have been excavated. This is the largest excavation to date of a Lower Pleistocene site. The preservation of this site and its large size offers us a unique opportunity to open a window to human behavior two million years ago.
