Abstract

The development of the motor competence in children is one of the main objectives of physical education in schools. Sport is an important tool for the achievement of this objective. Many school children practise sport and benefit from it, but the mastery of a series of techniques and procedures is necessary in order to enjoy them, which can be difficult for a group of the school population, between 22% and 65%. These children show developmental coordination problems and are present in every physical education class. There is a need to understand this condition in order to propose solutions which help them to feel more competent in the gym and in the sport field. This paper deals with such problems so that professionals are made more sensitive to this condition
