Abstract

This doctoral research address the comparative study of the basis, juridical nature and content of legal institutions that have come to be knoen as prison benefits in varios criminal enforcement systems both in Spain and Latin America. Such standards an international instruments, will be the main object of study, reported in any state regulations for a similar re-socializing spirit. Those prison benefits that constituted, in the past, administration concessions to prisoners under the forms of awards and rewards, have bean and remain essential mechanisms in the organization of the prison life at enforcement of criminal sentences, and the instruments of greater scope, to achieve the purposes for which it is intented today the custodial sentence.
