Abstract
In nursing education we talk about the concepts of respect to the person and help relationship. These concepts are well known to be developed in therapeutic sphere, nevertheless, we forget them when we have to establish a relationship in a non therapeutic context. The experience is based on Gabriela, a nursing student from Rumania. I assumed her learning process to be normal. The chance to build up a closed relationship with her emerged from clinical practices supervision. This situation allowed me to discover Gabriela, her perceptions, her values, her language boundaries, her integration difficulties, and her learning problems. What I discovered was not pleasant, I thought everything was normal with Gabriela but it was not.
