Résumé
This thesis comes under the framework of the completion of a doctoral program at the University of Alcalá, a doctorate in educational planning and innovation. This program, launched in 2011, has had more than 200 participants, many of whom reside in foreign countries. Now, scheduled for completion in September 2017 by the extinction scheduled doctorate plans framed by Royal Decree 1393/2007, research on the factors of success of their students in achieving doctorate arises. First, a contextualization of research arises, reviewing regulations and structural situation of the studies of second and third cycle in Spain, Chile, Mexico and the Dominican Republic, being the majority nationalities of students who completed their studies. In addition, an overview about the various investigations and collected experiences on the evaluation of doctoral programs, prospects and results is made. In the theoretical framework, in addition to be emphasized academic historical background of the figure of doctorate, it has tried to review the conceptualization of the elements of the study, to theoretically justify the validity of the proposed variables. In the third chapter, the type of research proposed and its design methodology is reviewed, for, in the fourth, start with the analysis of the collected results. In the fifth chapter, are referred the most striking conclusions drawn from the results which accrues future proposals and suggestions in the sixth and last chapter of volume.
