Résumé

The arrival of digital media has created new forms of entertainment and fun. Among the many choices of digital entertainment, video games emerge. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate the potential of digital entertainment, in this case video games as learning factor. Think of these instruments as elements designed not only for leisure is thinking about the games from that which brings the player and makes you enjoy at their screens for hours. It's about understanding the internal grammar of the game considering his possibilities and looking like a playful element can become a teaching-learning tool both in a non-formal and formal (school). The analysis of the rules and mechanics of the game itself, besides the presence of narratives as a source of new stories, suggests the possibilities that the media offer a world education. We will use the data collected and analyzed in ethnographic form that took place in two public schools in the community of Madrid. During 2006-2007 we worked with elementary students in primary school Ciudad de Jaén and later in the year 2008-2009 at a secondary education student with the Spanish language in the IES Manuel de Falla. Comparing each of the games used in the workshops (The Sims 2 and Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix), to discover how the internal and external elements facilitated learning the game, revealing that these tools allow you to enter the analysis of strategies and behavior based on the adventures of the game.
