Resumen
In Nicaragua- the second lowest developed country from Central America, 129th in the HDIviolence against women presents limited visibility. The present project analyzes the circumstances of women in poverty situations victims of gender violence that live in marginal areas from the city of León, who were accessed through the network of support and intervention of the Commissioner of Women and Children. The information obtained not only allow us to know more about the sociodemographic characteristics of the victims, but also let us analyze the social cognition of the violence they are suffering in addition to some other factors involved in construction, such as the existence of gender violence in their own families.
