Abstract

This paper is one of the studies which the team GITHE (Grupo de Investigación Textos para la Historia del Español) is carrying out with the help of the documental corpus CODEA, diachronic linguistic corpus also prepared by the team and containing 1500 archival documents (about a million words) from the 12th and until the 17th century. The authors seek to answer questions about who were the scribes or notaries of these documents, how and where they learned their work, where and for how long they worked and which formulae they used.
