Abstract

Introduction: This article arises, after the completion of a mindfulness course, from the comparison of this relaxation technique and the Mayos, traditional songs of the Lower Alcarria. Mayos are songs, toned on the night of April 30 to extol the Virgin and / or girls. It is significant and we exemplify how the description of the beloved and the Virgin follows the same parameters, there are no differences of modesty. Since both cultural phenomena follow the same line: describe or focus on body parts starting with the head and ending with the feet, and without referring to the parts related to motherhood, taboo subject for both, we can intuit that mayos and mindfulness They had the same origin. If we take into account that many of the oral tradition narratives have their origin in Indo-European culture and that mindfulness is said to be born on the border of India and Nepal, we see an obvious geographical kinship. There are facts that are significant, with the Mayans the arrival of the good weather is celebrated, of the fields in flower that give good harvests and prosperity, and with the full attention the tranquility is sought; so. Both manifestations seek the welfare of humanity as a whole.
