Abstract
This communication aims to explore the proyect of the “settlements of producers and administration” that the Hydraulic Services of the North of Spain raised for the construction of Bárcena dam (1948-1960). It is relevant that project report pointed out the expectation of offering accommodation to the frequent governmental visits to the area. Thus, these enclaves display the repertoire of homes necessary for the social model and the productive system of the Movement: from the lowest echelons to residences designed for ministerial figures. The project, signed by the engineer Antonio de Corral y García in 1954, can be recognized as part of a discursive debate on ruralism and the industrial city. In each of its scales, the principles and values of the new order are reflected, with the purpose of materializing the capitalist and heteronormative patriarchal project of the Regime, which should be rooted in the domestic space.
