Abstract

This paper analyses the effects of technological progress on employment and wages. At the aggregate level, there is no evidence of negative effects of technological progress on employment in Spain. Technological progress increases wages. Nevertheless, if technological progress is a creative destruction process. It implies employment sectoral reallocation and, probably, raises wage dispersion. In Spainthere is evidence of employment sectoral (and occupational) reallocation but not of increasing wage dispersion.
