Resumen

We are going to give sense to the May 28th 1293 document and to the decision adopted by Sancho IV of "Castilla", of transforming schools of Alcalá in "Estudio General", through the analysis of the historic joint in which this isolate fact takes place, from a triple point of view: the moment in which it's produced within the reign, the cultural politics developed by the King, and the conceptions which appear in the intellectual circle created around his own by the other main character of the foundational act of 1293, the archbishop of Toledo and main chancellor of the reigns which compose the kingdom of "Castilla", Gonzalo Garcia Gudiel, that, on the other side, gets an active politics of development of Alcala like an administrative centre of the archbishop lordship of Toledo. The defense of the orthodoxy and the satisfaction of administrative necessities appear as the elements that define the logic in which the studied fact is produced
