Distracción mandibular en un caso de micrognatismo asociado a malformación de la articulación temporomandibular

Zusammenfassung
We report a case of a two years old girl with mandibular bilateral hypoplasia associated with malformation of the temporomandibular joints and severe restriction of mouth opening. No other craniofacial or sistemic anomalies were present. Early surgical treatment was indicated due to respiratory complications development. Bilateral lengthening of the mandible by bone distraction was carried out as well as coronoidectomy with good result. We review and discuss the state of the art about mandibular distraction technique.
