Abstract
Since the early concepts of isokinetic assessment appeared in the 60s, many studies of the topic have been reported. Nowadays, isokinetic devices are used with increasing frequency in rehabilitation and sports training centers. The method has proven to be highly reliable and accurate for obtaining measurements in muscular evaluation and training. A general review of the isokinetic evaluation of the knee joint is made, from early concepts to the present.
