Abstract
Earth and Mars have in common a wide variety of reliefs and geologic processes; Mars have reliefs with extraordinary dimensions; some liquid water, the essential molecule for the terrestrial life, could be still present somewhere under the martian surface; and a surface that could be the reflex of the future geologic history of Earth. These factors makes of Mars an allied for teachers of geology and natural and environmental sciences. With the study of Mars from this point of view the attention of students is almost sure.
