Abstract
The interaction between glaciers and volcanoes can be the origin of geological processes that could be considered like geologic risk sources and the origing of important economic and human damages. This one is the case of the jökulhaups, or glaciers flows, that frequently take place in Iceland. Here are described the origin of the jökulhaups and some of the most important events happened in Iceland, an active volcanic island partially covered by glaciers.
