Abstract
Bioclimatic, floristic, phytosociological and physiographical data have been employed to propose a phytogeographical división of the Baja California península. The Baja California territories are classified into two kingdoms (Holarctic and Neotropical), two regions (Californiana and Xerofítico-Mexicana), five provinces (Californiano-Meridional, Martirense, Bajocaliforniana, Colorada and Sanlucana) and eight phytogeographical sectors (Diegano, Juarezense, Martirense, Vizcaíno, Magdalenense, Angelino-Loretano, Sanfelipense and Sanlucano). For each phytogeographical group, data are provided regarding geographical limits, plant communities, and lists of vascular plants.
