Abstract

Palaeontology is a mixed discipline between geology and biology. Attraction felt by students for the fossils, and mainly about dinosaurs, is a claim that can be used as resource for the introduction of scientific concepts. The multidisciplinary concept of palaeontology joins Earth science with other scientific branches of the natural sciences. In this paper we introduce two didactic workshops combining geology, palaeontology and biology: Trapped in amber and Travelling continents. Activity with amber joins biology and palaeontology and it is oriented to Primary Education. Continental drift raises a geological problem that can be solved by the students through the use of logic and fossils.
