Resumo
The I Symposium on Language and Communication at the University of Alcalá was held between the 3rd and 4th of November 2010. After a time lapse of a few years, this event is meant to carry on the task undertaken by the Symposium on Linguistics at the University of Alcalá, which was directed by Francisco Moreno Fernández. With the aim of reaching a wide audience, the content of our symposium will be published in the form of articles gathered in monographic volumnes in the web site Linguistica en la Red. We here present the first volume of the series, which is devoted to discourse markers.
