Abstract
This paper deals with the presence of Campaniens (i.e. Oscans and Suritalians in general) in both sides of the Messina Strait, its historical development and chronology, as well as the crcumstances which made possible the role they played in the area around fitheen years. In the case of Reghium, there are traces of a pact between Rome and the treacherous garrison at the moment of the Roman conquest in 270 B.C.
