Zusammenfassung
Rhinitis is defined by nasal disturbance characterized by sneezing, nasal pruritus, rhinorroea and blockage or nasal congestion, which are reversible either spontaneously or after treatment, establishing a risk factor for potential respiratory conditions. It is an undervalued morbidity cause, originating elevated direct and indirect costs, both social and economic, and warranting a depletion on quality of life. It shall be classified into allergic or nor allergic rhinitis, which could be subsequently classified as regards its frequency into persistent (>4 days/week and >4 weeks consecutively) or intermittent (those rhinitis which do not meet the former criteria) and also by its severity into moderate-severe (its disrupts sleep, daily life or annoying symptoms) or mild (those rhinitis which do not meet the former criteria). Its diagnosis is warranted by a good clinical history, prick-tests and/or specific IgE, together with suitable complementary tests.
