Resumo

This work is intended to focus attention on the need to develop habits of conscious reflection on the phonic level units from an early age. The study of the phonological competence of the speakers of a linguistic community in its different levels of language acquisition will allow specialists plan adequately curricular designs and working techniques in the classroom, as well as prevent and eradicate problems in the acquisition of the written code. On the other hand, phonetic and phonological awareness is not a skill that is acquired spontaneously way, so its stimulation through specific programmes for pre-school education should become one of the basic tasks of the teacher, essential for other learning experiences.
