Abstract

The dynamic relation between the xerophytic pastures and the pedoclimatic factors that condition them is studied. The study of the relation between plant species and classes of previously coded variables (states of the variables), by means of the correspondence factorial analysis methods, allows us to define groups of species representative of the main pasture types, showing the existing relationships between groups of species and groups of states. This method, of global character, is complemented by another one (ecological pro files), of analytical character, that points out the importance and level of significance of every species with respect to every state of the variable. The so called «pastos de loma», first group of pastures, of the three studied ones, is affected by the erosive cycle and humidity. The second group is related to variable valúes refering to xerophytism and high soil pH. Finally, there is a third group, with thermo-mediterranean character, where the influence is not due to variables of chemical type, but to climatic ones (xeric conditions, low altitude) besides soil cover and erosión.
