Zusammenfassung

By means of a stratified phytoeclological sampling the importance of wild sainfoin is pointed out, as one of the species with greater trophic and improving values in the pastures of the Southern Iberic System. Onobrychis hispánica was collected in 46 % of the sampling sites, ranging between 1000 and 2000 meters of altitude, in humid or fresh mountain pastures of mediterranean orophytic tendency, in dense herbace us formations that could be included within the al. Mesobromion. It can be found, as well, in communities of Brachypodion phoenicoidis, frequent in the medium zone and it is also common in pastures of the al. FestucoPoion ligulatae, that constitute the transit between the mediterranean thicket and the communities of Festuco-Brometea. The pasture species, to which the sainfoin is more associated, were analyzed, and they have been studied in a detailed form their enviromental factors, that condition their distribution or have influence on their development. Finally, a call of attention is made on the morphologic- adaptative plasticity of O. hispánica towards its possible use as starting material in pasture improvement programs in submediterranean calcareous mountain environments.
