Abstract

Definition Empty sella is a clinical entity that refers to the total or partial absence of the pituitary gland, classified in primary or secondary to injury. Clinical manifestations It is usually an incidental finding, and sometimes is associated with hormonal dysfunction, clinical manifestations of intracranial hypertension or pituitary adenoma. Treatment Includes the management of intracranial hypertension, pituitary adenoma if present or replacement of associated hormonal deficiencies. Palabras clave
