Resum

"The shepherd’s wife" is a ballad that was partially quoted in some sources from XV, XVI and XVII centuries. It has been recorded in Panhispanic oral tradition during the twentieth century as well. A variant has perhaps been adapted in a dance play in Colombia: the 'fandanguillo' of Tolima. The ballad develops with variable and original endings some stories about fidelities and adulteries among shepherds that are much different from the common models of the books of shepherds
