Zusammenfassung

Since its inception, the ILO has sought to reconcile social progress and the demands inherent in the openness and interdependence of economies. Today the dilemma facing the ILO relates to the ability to meet its constitutional objectives in a new context of globalized economy and financial capitalism. The paper analyzes the relevance and pertinence, in order to achieve social justice and the promotion of decent work and sustainable development, of the Constitution and the Declarations that reflect the values, programs and priorities of the ILO. It studies social justice as a way to prevent unfair competition between States; fundamental principles and rights at work as a universal social public order; decent work as a demand for fair globalization, and instruments of international labour law as rules of the game for multinational enterprises.
