Résumé

The “Project for the sociolinguistic study of Spanish in Spain and America” (“Proyecto para el estudio sociolingüístico del español de España y América” - PRESEEA) aims to carry out a series of coordinated sociolinguistic studies concerning the Spanish spoken in the Americas and in Spain, with a view to comparing linguistic data and exchanging information and material. The most noteworthy results of the work done to date are the creation of a macrocorpus of spoken Spanish and the gradual completion of a great deal of partial or specific pieces of research by different teams and experts. This monograph presents a selection of current studies testifying to “Processes of variation and change in the Spanish spoken in Spain”.
