Resumo
Clinically, hypertensive patient has to be assessed according with a global perspective including all cardiovascular risk factors, not only artery blood pressure. The term metabolic syndrome encompasses all these factors, also including obesity, plasma lipid levels and glycemia. Treatment follows a multiple approach. On the other hand, type 2 diabetes mellitus patients frequently suffer artery hypertension requiring a specific therapeutic approach.
