Abstract

Contact tracing applications for people infected with coronaviruses are undeniably an effective tool to stop the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. The increase of outbreaks in Spain after the end of the state of alarm makes it necessary to implement new tools that help the traditional methods of tracing infectious diseases, which help our weakened health system. If we do not control and isolate infected people, a new blow to the health services could be devastating in human terms, and a new confinement would have devastating consequences for our economy. But not everything is valid and it is up to us to decide which model of society we want to have: a digitally monitored society under the pretext of security or public health; or a society that learns to make technological advances compatible with respect for fundamental rights. This article is dedicated to the this later.
