In this review, the figure of Dioscorides is treated through the literary tradition of different times: in the Middle Ages thanks to the schools of translators and the interest of Muslims in translating texts by Greek and Latin authors, plus the interest Muslim for medicine; In the 15th and 16th centuriesthere was a great increase in the literary tradition of Dioscorides thanks to the development of knowledge and knowledge among all social classes and the increase in editions on translations of his work. In Europe and Spain, the figure of Andrés Laguna, Pope Julius III's doctor, who, apart from translating the work, made comments to improve it, will stand out. In the 19th and 20th centuries, editions of the modern era will be reissued and new translations are made in which the classic work will be used, making transformations and innovations to mix novelty and antiquity.
