Abstract

This paper addresses the actual condition of the archaeological studies carried out in prehistoric and historic cemeteries located in the Campo de Montiel region, taking into account the existing literary references. This revision aims to acknowledge how the funerary record has been studied in this region of Ciudad Real, and how deeply anthropological analyses are implanted nowadays. Physical Anthropology is a field of study of utmost importance when aiming to deeply understand the real life of the societies from the past.
