Abstract
One of the most common preanalytical effects in the clinical laboratory is hemolysis. Its presence produces an error in the determination of different biochemical constituents. The extraction technique or the transport and preparation can cause hemolysis. The objective of the study is to evaluate by the hemolytic index, the interference produced by hemoglobin in 32 biochemical constituents using the Atellica® Solution analyzer. This study will be used to detect and quantify such interference, in order to achieve reliable and accurate results.
