Zusammenfassung
This work covers the biological and evolutionary approach of parasitic-host interaction and takes a tour of the remedies used for the prevention and control of the disease from a historical point of view both in the West, with the discovery and use of quinine, its synthesis and the career throughthe antimalarial drug market, as well as in the East, with the use of artemisinin’sand their importance in the pharmacological resistances observed, until reaching the current vaccine marketed. Research into this parasitic disease is considered basic both because of the health impact of the populations it affects and for social justice with people living in endemic areas.
