Collaborative translation tasks have grown exponentially since the advent of the so-called World Wide Web, where the user, previously passive, becomes an active user capable of controlling and sharing information with other users in a way that would have been unimaginable not so many years before. Drawing on a non-experimental mixed study, this article analyzes how a group of 20 translation trainees at XXXX perceive web-based localization platforms. On the basis of the obtained quantitative and qualitative findings, it is argued that these translation tasks are unknown among the translation trainees and have to be explored so that they can be introduced into the translator curriculum.
