Abstract
O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar a aceitação de crenças distorcidas sobre papéis de gênero e sobre a violência contra a mulher em uma amostra de futuras professoras da Espanha e da América Latina. Participaram 2.395 professores em formação de universidades e centros de ensino superior da Argentina, Chile, Colômbia, El Salvador, Espanha e México. A metodologia do estudo é quantitativa e o desenho é transversal. Os resultados relatam diferenças estatisticamente significativas entre os países da amostra na aceitação de crenças distorcidas. Os homens, comparados às mulheres, tendem a apresentar mais distorções cognitivas sobre os papéis de gênero e violência do parceiro íntimo contra as mulheres. O sistema educacional é um dos principais agentes socializadores, portanto, a formação de professores em questões de igualdade é essencial para eliminar os preconceitos de gênero e contribuir para a promoção de uma sociedade sem violência contra a mulher.
