Abstract

This text aims to focus attention on the importance of industrial heritage in urban regeneration as a process of transformation of contemporary cities. The situation twentieth -century urbanism has led us, has left multiple identity gaps in the fabric of cities. These are displayed before our eyes as suitable spaces on which to build the city of the future. Ensuring an outlooks dialogue transcends the visual parentheses scale of the isolated architecture element to incorporate a territorial extension. Forgotten elements invade urban context become cornerstones in its redefinition process and, between them, who deserve special attention, are the legacies of productive activity. Through various reuse processes productive activity has ceased in cities, the difficulties in urban areas since the end of last century are solved. Its aim is to achieve a social model participant of all economic interventions take place in cities. As a result, the citizen will be a simple culture receiver (understanding that industrial heritage is part of our culture) to take a more demanding role respect to their own use. In this way, this creates a relationship city - citizen established in the ideal place for change.
