Zusammenfassung

In recent years, there has been an increase in the diagnosis of imported diseases due to the steady increase in international trips and journeys to tropical and subtropical areas. This poses a challenge for travel medicine. Imported parasitic diseases, led by malaria due to Plasmodium falciparum, represent one of the main travel health problems. The complexity of diagnosing imported parasitic diseases in our setting as well as their possible complications make it necessary to minimize the risks of infection during travel. Therefore, it is necessary to consult with a specialized professional before departing in order to act on the initial part of the process: prevention.
