Abstract

Primary thyroid lymphoma is a rare entity that should be suspected in women who present a rapid growth of the thyroid gland with compressive cervical symptoms. Surgery has a mainly diagnostic utility and systemic chemotherapy with or without radiotherapy is the treatment of choice in these cases. We present the case of a woman with a primary thyroid B cell type non-Hodgkin lymphoma intermediate between diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and Burkitt lymphoma.
