Un escenario para ir más allá del currículo

Résumé
Despite the breadth of the physics & chemistry fields, one of my longstanding frustrations as a teacher was the rigidity of our approach to lessons, which we have traditionally kept closely tied to the syllabus. This meant we would fail to cover the wide range of fascinating related topics that students may find more appealing and tangible. The moon landing, the Chernobyl incident, antimatter, or the effects of outer space on the human body, just to name a few, would all provide real world examples of different topics covered in class. This all changed in October 2019, when I embraced the Flipped Classroom and Blended Learning methodologies. Thanks to these, my students have been able to work on over 60 different assignments covering a wide variety of topics, presenting them with a new way to approach these fields and providing additional insights that-while key to their learning-are not strictly part of the syllabus.
